The law firm of Brandt, Horan Hallstrom & Stilmock has named Ryan McIntosh a partner. For over 60 years, the firm has provided legal and government relations services to the NBA.
Ryan and his wife, Leslie, reside in Syracuse with their four children, Oliver, Reagan, Calvin and Teddy. Ryan is a Major in the Nebraska Army National Guard, serving as the Operations Officer for the 1-134th Cavalry in Yutan, Nebraska. Ryan joined the law firm in the fall of 2018, and his practice focuses on government relations. His other practice areas include agriculture and natural resources law, municipal law and estate planning and probate. Ryan graduated with distinction from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Law in 2014. One of the requirements for the NBA Foundation Scholarship is a letter from a Nebraska banker. It’s a great way to connect with college students considering a banking career. Share the scholarship application with them and help build the banking workforce.
To be eligible for a scholarship, the student must be a junior or senior pursuing a business-related degree full-time at one of the Nebraska state or privately funded colleges or universities (excluding the University of Nebraska), and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. The deadline to submit applications is Feb. 14. Scholarship Application The NBA is accepting photos of Nebraska for the 2023 Scenes of Nebraska Calendar. Specifications for submissions are available at nebankers.org/calendars.
The photo entry deadline is March 1. Send your entries to [email protected] Nobody does more to improve the financial literacy of Nebraskans than banks do. The NBA wants to recognize your bank’s efforts with the Leaders in Financial Education (LiFE) Awards. Submit your application by Feb. 25 so your bank can be recognized at the Annual Convention on May 4-6 in La Vista.
The LiFE Awards include the following: LiFE Honors List Whether in-person or online, bank financial literacy efforts include a broad range of activities. The LiFE Honors List recognizes the many ways banks improve the financial health of their communities. Bank Innovation Award This award is presented to a bank that implemented an innovative way to improve financial literacy. Presentation Recognition One bank from each of the three deposit size categories will receive this award. This will be based on the number of Get Smart About Credit, Teach Children to Save and other financial literacy presentations given by a bank. Career Award This award is presented to a banker who has been a valuable asset in leading the bank's financial literacy efforts for at least five years. A bank president, CEO or a banker in a management position must be the one who nominates a banker for the Career Award. Visit nebankers.org/life to submit your application.
